Volumetric Calibration of Vertical Storage Tanks

Volumetric calibration consists of determining the capacity or volumes of an atmospheric container at different product levels at the same reference point at a base temperature according to its geometric shape in large volumes.

This measurement is based on the application of methods and regulations at an international level with high resolution equipment and traceability to current national and international standards and certified in accordance with accepted international standards and their national equivalents, to provide the necessary dimensions for the calculation of the Calibration Tables that show the volume of product millimeter by millimeter at any level in the tank.

Standards applied:

API MPMS Cap. 2.2 A (ISO-7507-1). WRAPPING METHOD

API MPMS Cap. 2.2 B (ISO-7507-2). OPTICAL REFERRAL METHOD

API 2555, ISO-4269 (WET METHOD)

API 2551. CALIBRATION OF HORIZONTAL TANKS

Calibration scope:

For vertical tanks with volumetric capacity up to 79,500 m3 (500,000 Bls)

For horizontal tanks with volumetric capacity up to 300 m3

Volumetric Calibration and Certification:

1.- Storage Tanks Type: Vertical cylindrical, Horizontal cylindrical and Spherical

2.- Tanks

3.- Tank trucks

4.- Barges

5.- Volumetric Standards (Pots or Volumetric Measures)

At Grupo PIESADEC we have personnel specialized in volumetric calibration of vertical storage tanks as well as certified materials to perform measurements.
