The goal of the bubble leak test vacuum box technique is to locate leaks at a pressure boundary that cannot be directly pressurized at the weld joints of the storage tank floors. This is accomplished by applying a solution to a local area of the weld joint surface and creating a differential pressure across that local area of the boundary that causes bubbles to form as the exhaust gas passes through the solution.
It is a technique used in the welded joints of the plates that make up the bottom of the storage tanks and the welded joints of the bottom with the envelope.
Grupo PIEADEC has personnel certified in Level II Leak Testing and with vacuum boxes for the bottom plates of the tank floor and vacuum boxes for the welded joint between the bottom and the envelope of the storage tanks.
