API 653 Storage Tank Inspection
The API code 653, «Inspection, Repair, Alteration, and Reconstruction of Tanks», describes the minimum requirements to maintain the integrity of atmospheric storage tanks that are above ground (AST Aboveground Storage Tanks) after they have been put into service. This code includes the inspection, repair, alteration and rebuilding of tanks.

- Background evaluation.
- Visual inspection.
- Evaluation of floating dome, slopes and pontoons.
- Technical recommendations and results prepared by the API 510 inspector.
- Inspection of welds with PT and / or MT.
